This next Sunday, May 9, a new edition of the Xilxes non-drafting triathlon, where some of the best triathletes in our country will be.[no_toc]
The competition will feature international athletes such as Emilio Aguayo, Roberto Sánchez Mantecón,, Sara Pérez Sala , or the Spanish Champion Laura gómez
The TriXilxes 2021 returns to the sports calendar two years later, since in 2020 it could not be celebrated due to the pandemic. This 2021 360 triathletes will be on the starting line with all the security measures
Distances
The distances of the different segments are the main novelty for this test, which will start with a lap of swimming over a 1.500m course, two laps in the cycling sector without drafting to complete the 60km of cycling and will end with a 15km run on foot. , in two rounds that will cover the beaches of the town of Castellón.
This distance, between the Olympic and the medium distance, has caused a sensation among competitors, especially among those who want to take the step to compete on longer routes.
It is part of the National Ranking of Medium and Long Distance
In addition, for this 2021 edition, the TriXilxes will be part of the tests of the National Ranking of Medium and Long Distance organized by the FETRI, the Spanish Triathlon Federation, and also of the No Drafting Cup of the Federació de Triatló de la Comunitat Valenciana.
It will also distribute a total of 3.500 euros in cash and equal to the first three classified and the first three classified in the general classification.
A high level in the test
As it is one of the first triathlons of the 2021 season in the entire national calendar, many high-level triathletes have shown interest in taking part in the 2021 TriXilxes.
Sara Pérez Sala, Spanish Olympic triathlon champion in 2017 and third Spanish in the qualifying ranking for the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020, and Roberto Sánchez Mantecón, U23 world champion in 2019.
In the men's event, in addition to Roberto Sánchez Mantecón, Emilio Aguayo, Cristóbal Dios, Peru Alfaro, Cesc Godoy, Víctor Arroyo, Pakillo Fernández Cortés, Joan and Ramón Ejeda will be on the starting line.
In the female category, Sara Pérez will not have it easy at all against a good number of rivals, such as Laura Gómez, Eva Ledesma Sonia Bejarano, Tessa Kortekaas and Natalia Bermúdez
