Marten Van Riel wins the T100 World Tour Triathlon in Dubai

Today the men's Grand Final of the T100 Triathlon World Tour in Dubai where Marten Van Riel has achieved victory and the title of first World Champion of the series, in a race that was decided in the final part.

Van Riel demonstrated his great ability in swimming, cycling and running, standing out as the best of the day in the harsh weather conditions of the desert.

Swimming

The event began with a two-lap swimming event in water temperatures close to 31 degrees Celsius.

Rich Bogen was the only one able to maintain Van Riel's initial pace, while Alistair Brownlee, who had had some difficulties in the transition, was looking to regain positions from behind.

The race was very close between Van Riel and Bogen and with 2,5 km to go, the Belgian managed to leave his opponent behind to finally take the victory with a time of 3:09:17, followed by Rich Bogen to 22 seconds and by  Alistair Brownlee  (3: 10: 25) in third position.
