Great participation this weekend On the first appointment of the largest National Triathlon circuit, WILD WOLF Triathlon Series by POLAR

Almost two thousand triathletes have come this weekend to Madrid to participate in the different tests that have been held during these two days at the Casa de Campo in the Spanish capital.

In this way, Madrid opened the doors to the largest National Triathlon circuit, WILD WOLF Triathlon Series by POLAR 2012, which will have stops in Castellón, Barcelona and Andorra during the month of July to end in A Coruña next September.

An authentic sporting and festive atmosphere has been experienced during these two days where hundreds of triathletes and family members have come to enjoy this event, which in addition to the competition itself, had an expo area that attracted the most relevant brands in this "Fashion sport" where triathletes were able to discover the latest innovations in sports equipment and technology.

On Saturday at 10 in the morning the first of the series in sprint distance (750m-20km-5km) in the relay category was started, then the different men's series were started ending at 12 in the morning with the women's series, where the winners were Jonathan Cruz from the Marlins Triathlon Madrid and Esther Barquero from CT Diablillos de Rivas in individual and PERSONAL RUNNING and TRITÓN EL PARDO in relays, male and female respectively.

After a short break to eat, at 4 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday the Olympic Distance competitions began (1500m swim - 38 km bike - 10 km race on foot), which was also a scoring event for the Cup and the League of Triathlon of the Community of Madrid, where Alberto Gonzalez Gil of the Tri-Val Valdemoro Triathlon and Sara Bonilla of the Claveria Triathlon Club.

During this day the triathletes who came to the Casa de Campo could also count on the presence of a luxury spectator, Eneko Llanos, one of the best triathletes on the international scene, who stayed at the POLAR Stand attending to his followers where he also raffled a kit among all the participants of this second edition of the WILD WOLF Triathlon Series by POLAR, Madrid

But it was not until 7 in the morning on Sunday when the test that has run on Media Distancia (1900m-80km-20) has started and that also has had the novelty of being the first time in the cycling segment that a Medium Distance competition left the Casa de Campo, running along roads bordering it.

It was in this test where Jaime Menéndez de Luarca from the X3M Majadahonda club in the male category and Ana Esteve García in the Female category, were proclaimed sellers of the same. According to statements made to the press by Jaime Menéndez de Luarca “it has been a spectacular circuit, I I competed in Olympic distance on these roads in the year 90, and leaving Casa de Campo again 22 years later in competition, has brought me great memories that have also largely been thanks to the excellent signage as well as the attention of the Civil Guard indicating the route and taking care of the circuit that has given me the possibility of enjoying these places "

“Podium yes, but I did not have all of me to win this test. In the cycling circuit my feelings have not been entirely good, despite being pleasant, with some steep slopes and flat areas I was not fully recovered from the previous Iroman that I did less than a month ago. It wasn't until the foot race when I was finally able to regain my sensations and finally achieve victory. Fully recommended, Triathlon Series has a great atmosphere, perfectly signposted circuits and excellent care for the triathlete before, during and after the competition "

After this spectacular start to the season, the WILD WOLF Triathlon Series will arrive in Castellón on July 08, where the participation of at least 1500 triathletes who will accompany us during this great triathlon party is already scheduled.
