Next Friday 20 in July will be held a new edition of the European Sprint Distance Championship in the Estonian city of Tartu with the presence of six Spanish triathletes
The Spanish triathlon has achieved world and european titles (Olympic distance), Medals in both competitions, victories and podiums in WTS and World Cups, By Javier Gómez Noya, Ivan Raña, Mario Mola, Fernando Alarza, Vicente Hernández, Ainhoa Murua, Ana Burgos, Eneko Llanos, Pilar Hidalgo, etc. But there is a competition that resists the Spanish triathletes, the Sprint European Championship, where the best results are the seventh positions Antonio Serrat last year Agnes Santiago in 2016.
Will the first medal arrive this year?
Especially in the male category Spain presents a very strong selection, with three triathletes among the top six classified in the ITU ranking, while in women it has Camila Alonso as the sixth best ranked of all the participants.
In the male category Uxío Abuín part with number one and is one of the favorites for the medals along with the Slovak Richard Varga, the Swiss Adrien Briffod and British Grant Sheldon. Next to them they also have options Roberto Sánchez Mantecón y Antonio Benedict.
In the women's competition there is no clear favorite and a very open race is expected. The main candidates for the podium are the British Sophie Coldwell, the Russian Anastasia Abrasinova and the Hungarian Zsannet Bragmayer Camila Alonso y Marta Sánchez, are the Spanish representatives, both have risen to the podium in European cups this season.

The competitions will be held on Friday 20 in July. Wings 13: 00 will start the female race and the 15: 00 the male.
