Rio 2016 Olympic champion, Gwen Jorgensen, faces the 2025 season with renewed energy and high expectations.
After a six-year break to start a family, Gwen Jorgensen returned to triathlon in 2023, proving she still has what it takes to compete at the highest level.
In his first year back, he won four World Triathlon World Cup events (Valencia, Karlovy Vary, Tongyeong and Viña del Mar).
In 2024, Jorgensen focused on moving up the rankings and competing regularly in circuit events. WTCS.
He finished the year with strong performances, such as sixth place in WTCS Weihai and 12th in the grand finale in Torremolinos. He also won the Miyazaki World Cup.
Preparing for 2025
After a brief two-week break to recharge his batteries, Jorgensen is back in training with his sights set on an early start to the season.
His first competition will be the WTCS Abu Dhabi, which is brought forward to February 7, 2025. This event will mark the beginning of a campaign that will seek to consolidate the progress made over the past two years.
In her recent YouTube video, Jorgensen shared her excitement: “I’m mentally ready and excited to get back to training. I now feel like I have a strength in the pool that I didn’t have two years ago, and I want to continue to build on that.”
Although the season starts soon, its next big event will be in May at the Yokohama WTCS.

Despite falling short of her goal of qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympics, Jorgensen has shown admirable adaptability and resilience.
