II City of Albacete Triathlon
Next Sunday the Second edition of the Ciudad Albacete Triathlon will be held. Although the first edition dates back to 2004, on this occasion the Albacete Triathlon Club intends to continue and repeat this test year after year, since it is being well received and more triathletes have registered than expected (180 registered). among all categories).
The test has the support of the Los Llanos Social Club and Sports Center, where the organization of the test will be located, as well as the swimming and running segments. The cycling segment will take place along the Pozomajano road avenue. The competitions will start at 9 in the morning.
One of the incentives it will have will be the dispute of the Regional Triathlon Championship in the cadet category, under the distances of 400 meters of swimming, 8 km of cycling and 1500 meters of running. In the female category, Cristina González from Albacete, dominating the cadet category in CLM, is the favorite, even placing well in some triathlons in the absolute category. Alba Martínez from Cuenca and Teresa Cañadas from Albacete will try to accompany Cristina on the podium. In the men's category, Juan Carlos Sáez from Cuenca and Antonio Lafuente from Rhodes start as favorites. On the Albacete side, Samuel Tendero will try to have a good race to qualify for the podium. Albacete natives Ricardo Ander-Egg, Juan Ramón Sánchez and Juan Carlos Pedrosa will also participate.
Later, around 9:40, the absolute test will take place, where the organizers have sought affordable distances to promote the participation of triathlon debutants. Thus, triathletes will have to swim 400 meters, cycle 10 km and run 2 km. The test will have the Albacete native from the Mandarache Triathlon Club of Cartagena Mateo as the favorite. There will also be good juniors like the Albacete natives Guillermo Martínez and Emilio Arroyo and the Rodense twins Ramírez Vinuesa.
In the women's category it seems that the victory will be between the two juniors from Albacete Cristina Moya and Claudia López, who will make a quality touch prior to the Spanish Triathlon Championship to be held in September in Vigo. The winners of the test will get a weekend for two people in a hotel from the Sidorme chain. The first stores to complete the trial will receive a free month at the Polideportivos & Fitness Imaginalia gym.
To end the day, tests will be carried out for the children, fry, youngest and pre-youngest categories with distances more appropriate to their ages.

On the other hand, on Saturday the Regional Triathlon Championship will be held at Olympic distance (1500 meters of swimming, 40 km by bike and 10 km of running) in the Alcarreña town of Pareja. The Albacete club presents a powerful team made up of Pablo Pérez, Omar López, Benito Moreno, Javi Gutiérrez, Baltasar Escribano, David García Maeso and Manuel Léon who will try to make the podium in the team competition, where the first three at the finish line score. Likewise, Omar López starts with options to win a medal in the Under 23 category and Benito Moreno in the absolute category.
