IRONMAN 70.3 Pucón 2025: The season kicks off in Chile
This coming Sunday, January 12, 2025, a new edition of the HOMBRE DE HIERRO 70.3 Pucon, known as “the most beautiful race in the world”.
This event marks the beginning of the calendar international and brings together outstanding triathletes in a unique natural setting in southern Chile.
A spectacular opening for the 2025 season
The IRONMAN 70.3 Pucón is an iconic event for its challenge and beauty. From the imposing Villarrica volcano to the lake of the same name, participants face a challenge that combines nature and sport.
Although there will be no Spanish representation in this edition, the event promises excitement with duels between middle-distance specialists and triathletes from the short distance.
Men's Favorites: West vs. All
Among men, the American Jason West West is the favourite. Known for his ability as a runner, he will look to take advantage of his strengths in the running segment to take the win.
However, he will face tough resistance from short-distance triathletes like the Brazilian Manoel Messias, who closed 2024 in great form by winning the Challenge Florianópolis.
Other names to follow are the Canadian Tyler Mislawchuck, whose transition to this distance is unknown, and the Chilean Diego Moya, who competes at home and can surprise.
Short female list, but big favorite
In the women's category, the Mexican Cecilia Pérez She leads the small group of six PRO triathletes. As the main contender, she will seek to prevail against the locals Francisca Garrido y Macarena Salazar, who will have the support of the Chilean public.
