HOMBRE DE HIERRO and Greater Zion Tourism have announced that the 2025 edition of the IRONMAN 70.3 St George It will be the last of this event.
After 15 years full of history, great championships and memorable moments, this competition will come to an end on May 10, 2025.
A career full of milestones
St. George began his relationship with triathlon in 2010, with its first edition as a full-distance IRONMAN event. Since then, it has hosted some of the most prominent competitions in the world. calendar triathlon, attracting elite and amateur athletes from around the world.
In 2013, the event became an IRONMAN 70.3, offering athletes the opportunity to compete in Greater Zion’s stunning landscapes and challenging course.
That same year, it became the home of the IRONMAN 70.3 North American Championship.
Three world championships in one year
St. George's biggest impact came in the wake of the pandemic, when it was selected to host three world championships in just over a year.
In September 2021, it hosted theThe IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, followed by the 2021 IRONMAN World Championship (held in May 2022 due to COVID-19) and finally again the 70.3 IRONMAN World Championship in October 2022. Never before had a city achieved a similar milestone.
The IRONMAN 70.3 St. George 2025 will be the latest edition, where the North American Championship will also be held and will be part of the IRONMAN Pro Series.
Brittany McMichael, director of the Greater Zion Tourism Office, expressed her pride in the event’s legacy: “Thanks to the support of our community, Greater Zion has been the site of world-class athletic events such as the Ironman and Ironman 70.3. Although this is the last edition, we will continue to host other high-level events.".
