IRONMAN will not allow Russian and Belarusian triathletes to participate in their tests with the Russian flag

After World Triathlon announced that will prohibit the participation under the Russian flag of Russian and Belarusian triathletes in its tests, IRONMAN has announced in a statement that it will not do so either.

Russian and Belarusian age group runners can take part in the regular races, but cannot take part in the World Championships races, which include the IRONMAN World Championship 70.3 at St George and both races at this year's IRONMAN World Championships at St George and Kona.

Russian and Belarusian age group athletes cannot run under the Russian and Belarusian flags, but will have to compete under a neutral flag.

Russian and Belarusian professional athletes are not allowed to compete in any races

In their statement they comment:

"In line with the recommendation of the International Olympic Committee and World Triathlon regarding the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in international competitions, the IRONMAN Group will, effective immediately, not allow the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship. 2022 in St. George, Utah, and at our two IRONMAN World Championship events taking place in St.

Additionally, all Russian and Belarusian professional athletes will not be able to compete in any of the 70.3 IRONMAN and IRONMAN 2022 triathlon events, including this weekend's IRONMAN 70.3 Dubai Triathlon.

No participant in one age group will be allowed to compete under the Russian or Belarusian flag at any IRONMAN or IRONMAN 70.3 event in 2022.. "
