Dates for IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 Portugal 2025

The dates for the dispute of 2 of the tests that have grown the most in popularity in recent years are already known, the HOMBRE DE HIERRO and the IRONMAN 70.3 Portugal-Cascais

The date chosen for the dispute will be 18th October 2025 and the process of Registration will open on October 22, 2024 for AWA athletes, TriClub members and registered participants in the 2024 edition.

General registration will be available starting October 24, 2024.

IRONMAN Portugal-Cascais route

El IRONMAN Portugal-Cascais offers a spectacular travel combining the beauty of the Portuguese coast with a high-level sporting challenge.

The race begins with a 3,8km swim at Ribeira Beach in Cascais, known for the cheering crowds along the shoreline.

The tour in bike 180km long, divided into two laps, takes participants through stunning views of the Portuguese Riviera, Guincho Beach and the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.

Thanks to the course improvements, triathletes will be able to cycle on roads of rare and scenic beauty, such as the Estrada do Guincho leading to Malveira and the Serra de Sintra, passing by the Blue Lagoon and reaching the iconic Estoril Formula 1 Circuit.

The route continues to Lisbon, where athletes will cycle alongside iconic monuments such as the Belém Tower, the Jerónimos Monastery and under the 25 de Abril Bridge.

The running race consists of three laps starting in the heart of Cascais and following the Guincho road along the coast to Cabo Raso, returning to the centre of the village.

IRONMAN 70.3 Portugal-Cascais route

The IRONMAN 70.3 Portugal-Cascais maintains the essence of its full version, but with more accessible distances for those who are starting out in the world of long-distance triathlon.

The 1,9km swim takes place on Ribeira Beach, surrounded by spectators who create a vibrant atmosphere. After leaving the water, the triathletes head to the transition on the Citadel platform.

The 90km bike tour offers stunning views of the Portuguese Riviera and the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.

Similar to the IRONMAN route, this course includes an exciting stop at the Estoril Formula 1 Circuit and heads into Lisbon, passing by the city's most iconic monuments.

The two-lap running circuit follows the coastline from Cascais to Oitavos and back to the town centre.

Visitors can explore Boca do Inferno, a spectacular sea cliff, enjoy a stroll through Cascais' old town, or relax on one of the many terraces overlooking the sea.
