IRONMAN Portugal: Two distances in 2024

Portugal is preparing to welcome athletes from all over the world in the third edition of the IRONMAN Portugal-Cascais, a test that offers two distances to test your endurance and enjoy the impressive landscapes of the Portuguese Atlantic coast.

The appointment will be next 19th October 2024 in Cascais, a historic town with dream beaches, palaces and monuments that will transport you to another era.

2 distances

HOMBRE DE HIERRO: The queen distance of triathlon awaits you with a 3,8 km swimming route in the spectacular Cascais Bay, 180 km cycling along the beautiful Portuguese Riviera and 42,2 km running through the heart of Cascais.

IRONMAN 70.3: If you are looking for a more affordable challenge, the IRONMAN 70.3 offers you half the distances: 1,9 km swimming, 90 km pedaling and 21,1 km running.

Circuits

Swimming:

• HOMBRE DE HIERRO: The adventure begins with a spectacular 3,8 km swimming segment in the Bay of Cascais, swimming in calm waters and with an ideal temperature between 17 and 19 degrees in October.
• IRONMAN 70.3: For this distance, the swimming circuit is reduced to 1,9 kmAlso in the bay of Cascais.

Cycling:

• HOMBRE DE HIERRO: Get ready for a tour in bike of 180 km that will take you through the Portuguese Riviera. A perfect circuit to enjoy the landscape, but with some climbs that will test your resistance.
• IRONMAN 70.3: In IRONMAN 70.3, the bike course is reduced to 90 km, but maintains the essence of the Portuguese Riviera.

Race

• HOMBRE DE HIERRO: The last stage of the IRONMAN is a 42,2 km marathon that will take you through heart of Cascais to Cabo Raso, where the turn will be made. A demanding route, ideal to receive the public's encouragement.
• IRONMAN 70.3: At IRONMAN 70.3, the foot race is reduced to 21,1 km, but maintains the same spirit as the marathon

Both distances offer the opportunity to qualify for the 2025 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship, a dream for every triathlete.
