Ivan Raña qualifies for the Hawaiian final

El Ironman of Zurich was the definitive classification of Ivan Raña for the final of the World Cup that takes place on the island of Kona (Hawaii). It was a race in which the Galician was from less to more but was not able to hunt the Swiss Ronnie Schildknecht that was clearly imposed on the goal.

The swim segment was led by the Estón Marko Albert, while the Galician left barely twenty seconds. The cycling segment was a highlight of the Swiss; when passing through the 30 kilometer Van Berkel I already had 2 minutes on Raña.

At the end of that segment Van Berkel entered with 2 minutes on Schildknecht, and 12: 38 on Frog who was left alone in third place. In the marathon Van Berkel had to retire at kilometer ten and Schildknecht was left alone in the lead with Raña trying to reduce the distance that went down to 6: 55 when passing through the half marathon.

Schildknecht resisted until victory, as well as Raña who endured in second place despite his severe back pain. With this result the Galician achieves his great objective: to be in the final of Hawaii.
