Javier Gómez Noya wins the Cozumel World Cup

Noya carries an 3 of copnsecutivas victories

The world champion has won in Cozumel (Mexico) the scoring triathlon for the World Cup, disputed in extreme conditions of heat and humidity.

He has therefore maintained the winning streak started in the World Cup London and followed by Pekin y Nice. And that in France caught a virus that has had him with fever and gastroenteritis, which led to question the trip.

In Cozumel the victory has been over Sprint distance: 750m of swimming, 20km of cycling and 5km on foot. The triathlon was decided in the last phase since some 40 triathletes arrived together at the end of cycling: "Having had fever and diarrhea had me worried and I did not know how I was going to perform. Hence, I chose to give everything at the beginning of the phase on foot to avoid having to play in the final section. In the round-trip turn points I was able to verify that I had a sufficient advantage, thanks to which I was able to relax in the final straight ". Second was the French Lescure and third the Russian Poliansky.

After this new success I could still play some more triathlon in the American continent at the end of October. He is sure that he will stay two weeks in Mexico to go to San Francisco, where he will visit the factory of the bike brand that sponsors him, Specialized.

It will be during these two weeks on Mexican beaches - in which he will continue training but without the usual intensity - when he will make the decision of whether he competes at the end of October for another triathlon in the US.
