Javier Gómez Noya and Mario Mola distinguished with the COE medal

Both triathletes have been distinguished from unanimously by all the members of the maximum Spanish Olympic organism

 

Javier Gómez Noya y Mario Mola have been awarded this afternoon with the Olympic medal of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) in recognition of the results obtained throughout this successful season.

 

 

At the meeting of the Executive Committee of the COE held on Tuesday, both triathletes have been distinguished from unanimously by all the members of the maximum Spanish Olympic organism, in a day in which they have also announced to the rest of winners with the medals of the COE.

 

At the beginning of last October, the Spanish Federation of Triathlon (FETRI) presented the request for the award by the Spanish Olympic Committee of the COE Medal to two of our most illustrious triathletes: Javier Gómez Noya and Mario Mola. A distinction that values ​​the sporting results obtained in the course of 2013, in which both have shone in a notorious way in the international sphere.

 

The president of the Spanish Triathlon Federation and member of the Executive Committee of the COE, José Hidalgo, pointed out that these awards are “the culmination of the success of two of our great athletes. The COE wanted to recognize the excellent career of Javi and Mario, and at the same time it is a recognition of the triathlon as a whole by the Olympic family ”.

 

After the podiums obtained in the 2013 Triathlon World Championship, in which both Spanish triathletes won the first and third place, added to the numerous podiums harvested and their outstanding performances along 2013 in the circuit of the ITU World Series, the World Cups and the European Cup of Alanya, among others, The awarding of the COE medal puts a finishing touch to a dream season of two of our most illustrious triathletes.

 

The prizes will be delivered in the annual COE gala that on this occasion the next December 18 will take place and it will be broadcast on television.
