Jonathan Brownlee to go long distance after games  

The two-time Olympic triathlon medalist (bronze in London 2012 and silver in Rio 2016 Jonny Brownlee has confirmed to the BBC Sport which the Tokyo Games will be the last in which he participates.

Brownlee who has already been selected to be in the Tokyo Games, He plans to move to the medium and long distance after being in the Japanese event in the month of July.

In the BBC interview he confirmed:

"I loved it, but after Tokyo I will be ready for a new challenge.

I know it is only three years for Paris, but I have been doing the same thing for a long time, the same races in the same places, and although the Olympics have been incredible, i'm ready for a change and if anything, long distance will do me good ".

Will follow in Alistair's footsteps

With this he will follow in the footsteps of his brother Alistair who went over to medium and long distance with spectacular performance, winning events at both distances and qualifying for Kona.

In the Leeds test, Alistair confirmed that he will not be at the Tokyo games And that will focus on the long distance after the ankle operation that has to be done.

Duel of the Titans in the long distance

In the coming years a beautiful long distance duel is expected between several ITU world champions such Jan Frodeno, Javier Gómez Noya, Alistair Brownlee and now Johnny Brownlee.
