Jorge García will be one of the three Technical Delegates of the Triathlon tests in Tokyo 2020

The Spanish Officer Jorge García, Director of Competitions of the Spanish Triathlon Federation, he is one of the three Technical Delegates designated by the ITU for triathlon events at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020.

They will accompany him in the highest responsibility of the Olympic tests, which include for the first time the Malayan Mixed Relay Melody Tan and the Greek Thanos Nikopoulos. They will be the Fifth Olympic Games in which Garcia will participate as a Triathlon Official, having been responsible for the swimming segment in 2016 River, and developed other functions in London 2012, Beijing 2008 y Athens 2004; besides having been part of Barcelona 1992 cas an Olympic volunteer.

Just 30 officers from around the world participate every four years in the control of the Olympic Triathlon events, which only have 3 technical delegates, this being the designation of greater responsibility that a triathlon technical officer can achieve in his career, and that it has been recently approved by the ITU executive committee.

The Spanish group of technical officers continues to be an international benchmark and receives important appointments at the highest level, along with a regular presence in international events.

The men's Olympic triathlon of the Tokyo Olympics will be held on July 27, 2020, with the women's event taking place the following day. The mixed relay that opens promoting gender equality and addressing the recommendations of the 2020 Olympic Agenda of the IOC in this regard, will take place on Saturday, August 1. Paratriathlon races in Tokyo will take place on August 29 and 30.
