Katie Zaferes wins the Yokohama World Series

The American has achieved her third consecutive victory this season

Today it has been played in Yokohama (Japan) the third meeting of the Triathlon World Series where Katie Zaferes He has achieved his third consecutive victory this year.

In the test, our representatives were Miriam Casillas y Carolina Routier  that have ended in 17ª and 35ª respectively

The Olympic distance test started at the 6 of Spanish morning time with the 1.500 meters of swimming, where the fastest was Jessica Learmonth followed by Maya Kingma, Taylor Spivey, Katie Zaferes and Summer Rappaport in 10 seconds

In the cycling segment, a leading group of 6 units was formed with Learmonth, Miller, Zaferes, Spivey Takahasi, Kigma and Rappaport that gradually increased their to reach T2 with two minutes ahead of the chasing group, to face the decisive 10 km of race on foot.

Quickly, after a quick transition, Zaferes and Rappaport left alone to go through the first lap of the sector already 19 seconds ahead of Taylor Spivey.

The two North Americans went together until the last lap where  Katie Zaferes he left alone to claim victory in a time of 1:52:12. The second classified has been Summer Rappaport (1: 52: 33) followed by Taylor Spivey (1: 53: 29) occupying the third final position.

Miriam Casillas  17ª and Carolina Routier 35ª continue their particular struggle to get as many women as possible for Spain in the face of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Where they have added some valuable points for the Olympic Qualification Ranking where the second test cycle has started.

With this victory, Zaferes gets the hat-trick this season and ranks as the undisputed leader in the first part of the circuit.

The next appointment of the WTS will travel to Great Britain, in Leeds, next June 8.
