Kristian Blummenfelt IRONMAN 70.3 World Champion
Today the men's event of the IRONMAN World Championship 70.3 after yesterday's victory of the North American Taylor Kinbb.
Today's test where all eyes were on the Norwegians Gustav Iden and Kristian Blummenfelt.
Today we have been able to live a whole show and emotion until the end.
First out of the water was Aaron Royle followed by March Dubrick. Behind in a very tight group, Ben Kanute started 13'' and Blummefelt 23. Ditlev started 21 to 44 seconds followed by Iden.
On the bike, a leading group was formed with Blummenfelt, Kanute, Royle, Funk, Taagholt who rode practically together until the final part where Taagholt dropped.
In this segment another favorite, Sam long he was cautioned and had to stop 5 minutes in a penalty box.
The first to arrive at T2 was Ditlev with a lead of 9 seconds over Blummenfelt and 11 over Funk. Kanute dropped in the last part and was fourth, 40 seconds behind the head of the race.
Gustav Iden was ninth at 5:22 of the best in the segment.
In the foot race, Blummenfelt was the one who quickly moved into the first position to try to leave alone and going through km 2 with 13 seconds over Kanute, 20 over Ditlev and 35 over Funk.
However, Kanute caught up with the Norwegian soon after to walk away together, distancing himself from Ditlev.
Going through the 10 km race Kanute and Blummenfelt were still in the lead with 56 seconds ahead of Ditlev and 3:36 over Taagholt.
With 5 kilometers to go, Blummenfet was 6 seconds behind Kanute, leaving alone for victory in the race.
Finally Kristian Blummenfelt He got the victory and the world title with a time of 3:37:12. Second has been Ben Kanute (3: 38: 01) and Magnus ditlev (3: 39: 52) third.
The only Spanish in the test, Jordi Montraveta He finished in 24th position.
