The nuclear crisis postpones the triathlon world cup in Japan

The nuclear crisis that affects Japan forced to postpone the stage for the triathlon World Cup that was to be held next month in Yokohama.

"The situation in the country continues to be very risky," explained the president of the International Triathlon Union (ITU), the Spanish Marisol Casado.

The ITU did not inform about the new dates for the test, which was to be held on May 14 and 15. The port of Yokohama is about 300 kilometers from the ill-fated Fukushima Atomic Power Station.

Jan Frodeno, Olympic champion, had already asked the ITU weeks ago, backed by other colleagues, to cancel the event.

Following the start of the World Cup in Sydney in early April and the cancellation of Yokohama, Madrid, from June 4-5, will be the next stop.
