The nuclear crisis postpones the triathlon world cup in Japan

The nuclear crisis affecting Japan forced the postponement of the stage for the Triathlon World Cup that was to be held next month in Yokohama.

"The situation in the country continues to be very risky," explained the president of the International Triathlon Union (ITU), the Spanish Marisol Casado.

The ITU did not inform about the new dates for the test, which was to be held on May 14 and 15. The port of Yokohama is about 300 kilometers from the ill-fated Fukushima atomic power station.

Jan Frodeno, Olympic champion, had already claimed to the ITU weeks ago, supported by other colleagues, to cancel the test.

After the start of the World Cup in Sydney at the beginning of April and the cancellation of Yokohama, Madrid, from June 4 to 5, will be the next stop.
