Hamburg Triathlon World Series canceled

World Triathlon has announced that World Series of Hamburg They cannot be held in July as scheduled

In a statement they report that the situation in Germany With the current restrictions in force due to the pandemic, it has forced the organizers to cancel the event

At the moment the new date is not known, but they are working to be able to celebrate it at the end of the year

"Ithe Organizing Committee, the German Triathlon Federation and the World Triathlon have been working on preparations to make the Hamburg WTS 2021 safe.

But after assessing the continuing status of the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany with local authorities and the resulting restrictions in place, we regret to announce that the event cannot take place on July 10-11, 2021.

The organizers and DTU are working with the City of Hamburg to secure a new race date in the year, working with World Triathlon to refine operational plans consistent with the goals of the local community and within the guidelines and recommendations established by public health entities regarding COVID-19. 

We want to express our gratitude to the athletes and the entire triathlon community, sponsors, broadcasters and fans for their continued understanding and we look forward to returning with a great event later this year.”
