Laura Gómez and Fernando Zorrilla win the VIII Half Triathlon Pamplona Iruña

Yesterday the eighth edition of the Half Triathlon Pamplona Iruña, scoring event for the Spanish Cup of Medium and Long Distance Triathlon where Fernando Zorrilla y Laura Gomez They took the victory.

At 13:30 p.m., the 700 triathletes registered for the 2023 edition launched into the waters of the Alloz reservoir.

After the 1900 meter swim, Liam Beardon from CT Diablillos de Rivas led the race with a time of 25 minutes and 44 seconds. However, after a long transition, the Aragonese Fernando Zorrilla took the lead.

The cycling segment was marked by a constant change of positions between Zorrilla, Eneko Llanos and Julen Lopetegui.

Finally, it was Fernando Zorrilla who demonstrated his superiority in the running race by going solo and achieving victory in a time of 3 hours 34 minutes and 8 seconds and revalidating his title.

In the women's category, Chloé Serra marked the best time in swimming, but it didn't take long for her to be surpassed by the great favourite, Laura Gómez.

Gómez maintained his lead throughout the race, crossing the finish line in an impressive time of 4 hours, 20 minutes and 3 seconds.

This eighth edition of the Half Triathlon Pamplona Iruña has left a great taste in the mouth and is established as one of the most important events on the national calendar. Triathletes and the public are looking forward to its 2024 edition.
