Marta Sánchez makes her debut and enters the top 10

The Spanish Marta Sanchez, in her first participation in an IRONMAN World Championship, has proven to be at the level of the best in the world, finishing in an outstanding sixth position with a time of 09:19:08.

From the beginning, Marta was the protagonist by leading the swimming segment together with Fenella Langridge and stay in the fight for the top spots for much of the race.
