Letesenbet Gidey breaks the world record of 5.000 meters

He has lowered Tirunesh Dibab's previous time from 14'11 "15

Today, Wednesday, the attempt by Letesenbet Gidey and Joshua Cheptegei to beat the world record of 5.000 and 10.000 meters respectively.

 Cheptegei, the recent 5.000m world record holder, will attempt to break the best record in the history of the 10.000m by running below the current record 26: 17.53.

But before, Letesenbet Gidey has made the attempt to break the world record and has achieved it with a 14 brand: 06.62 lowering Tirunesh Dibab's previous time of 14'11 ″ 15
