Lionel Sanders will be at the Arena Games Triathlon
The Canadian triathlete media Lionel Sanders, will start the season in an unusual way for him, since it changes drastically in the distance you will be racing.
Sanders, renowned middle and long distance triathlete will be at the Arena Games Triathlon de Montreal on Saturday, February 25.
Sanders said: "II'm excited. I am nervous. I'm looking forward to the challenge.
I'm excited to have the opportunity to do something new, something fun, something really good for the sport and professional triathlon and really good for you because I think high end is extremely important.
My favorite sport to watch is MMA. I don't want to get in the ring and fight, but I would love to have the experience of going out like you're going to fight, and this is probably as close as I'll get to that, being the center of attention in a true spectator sport, so it will be fun to experience it".
Montreal will be the first host of the 2023 Arena Games Triathlon World Championship Series.
After Montreal, the Series visits Switzerland (March 12) before a Grand Final in London (April 8), with the previously announced event in Singapore postponed.
