The Challenge Madrid 2019 circuits

This year, Challenge Madridreleases new travel and we collect the videos of the circuit,

The test will be held on September 22, 2019 and will run through the Sierra Oeste of the Community of Madrid, starting in San Martín de Valdeiglesias and finishing at Km0 of Puerta del Sol.

Swimming segment

The swimming segment of 3,8 km will be developed on the Playa de la Virgen Nueva (also known as "the beach of Madrid"), which at 2018 was declared Blue flag, as a hallmark of the standards of clarity that the San Martín de Valdeiglesias City Council proposed and achieved. It is the first indoor beach with blue flag of the Community of Madrid.

Cyclist segment

The bicycle test will be 180 Km and will be developed by the Sierra West where the mountainous relief predominates that gives way to other lower areas through which the Alberche and Perales rivers flow. The variety of landscapes, as well as the relief and the vegetal species that can be observed, are very valuable since this region runs between the 500 and 1500 meters of altitude.

The first part of the bicycle circuit passes between Last foothills of the Sierra del Guadarrama and the first elevations of the Sierra de Gredos, in the extreme southwest of the region. The predominant vegetation in this region are the coniferous forests, whose most outstanding species is the stone pine. On its slopes also grow oaks, cork oaks, junipers, melojos and chestnuts, forming a typical landscape of the Mediterranean forest.

The second part will go to Madrid passing through different towns until arriving at the capital making entrance through the Casa de Campo where the T2 will be located, a place of transition from where the Marathon test will start.

Race segment on foot

After leaving the bike at the Casa de Campo, you will travel 10 Km through this area until you reach the river area, crossing the Puente del Rey and going up to the downtown area through the Cuesta de la Vega and it is there where they will have to do the kilometers of the race on foot.

The route in the center will be of 4 turns that goes mainly through the Main Street, La Cathedral of the Almudena, Royal Palace, Spain Square, ride of Camoens and the Temple of Debod. In his final, on the last lap, the race on foot will enter the Puerta del Sol for his arrival at "Km 0", where the Meta will be located.
