The Spaniards look for glory in the grand final of the world series

The New Zealand city of Auckland these days becomes the epicenter of the world triathlon with the dispute of the Grand Final of the ITU Triathlon World Series. Located on the North Island, the town offers an idyllic setting.

 

The swim segment will consist of two laps of 750 m each with an exit at Queens Wharf. Afterwards, 8 cycling laps of 5 km will be done each one by an urban circuit, ideal for bike specialists, to conclude with 10 km of running on foot in the vicinity of the city.
Next Saturday 20 in October the triathletes in the women's Sub-23 category will be responsible for opening a weekend loaded with strong emotions that will crown the best triathletes in this season of the ITU Triathlon World Series.

Among the participants, the presence of Carolina Routier banyolina stands out. At his side, other young promises such as the Dutch Maaike Caelers, the British Lucy Hall and the French Emmie Charayron will struggle to climb to the top of the podium.

Then the female elite will start, with the participation of Ainhoa ​​Murua. The Gipuzkoa comes to New Zealand lands after completing one of its best seasons and after obtaining an Olympic diploma in London last August.
Erin Densham leads the classification and leaves as one of the big favorites to the final triumph. The Australian will have the Swedish Lisa Norden and local triathlete Andrea Hewitt as top rivals to take over the world title.

Other top-level triathletes looking for a medal will join them. Among them, the Americans Sarah Groff and Gwen Jorgenssen, the Irish Aileen Morrison or the Australians Ashleigh Gentle and Felicity Sheedy-Ryan.

Finally, it will be the turn of the U-23 boys in what is expected an exciting fight with the Spanish Fernando Alarza aspiring to everything. After a splendid season, the triathlete from Talavera de la Reina arrives in New Zealand with clear options to win the title, after winning in 2010 in the junior category.

On the other hand, Uxío Abuín arrives to the appointment after making a great season in which he has shown his growing progression. While Vicente Hernández arrives after achieving good results throughout the year, such as bronze in the Karlovy Vary European Cup last August.
Along with them, the British stand out Matthew Sharp and Thomas Bishop, the Russian Igor Polyanskiy, the Italian Davide Uccellari or the Frenchman Pierre Le Corre.
