The Brownlee brothers sweep in Stockholm

Mario Mola gets the 4º square and Javier Gómez Noya is removed from the test due to stomach problems.

Rainy day in Stockholm where the best triathletes in the world were facing the seventh round of the ITU World Series Sprint distance, 750-20-5.

It was expected a very fast and disputed test but the Brownlee Brothers already from the beginning attacked reaching the finish line alone. The test started at 12: 45 where in swimming Richard Varga came out first in swimming (08: 57) followed closely by Alistair Brownlee y Jonathan Brownlee.

Already on the bicycle the 3 formed a group where the first kilometers the strong rhythm imposed by the brothers made Varga fall off the hook and the chasing group will reach him with the rest of the favorites except the South African Murray who remained off the hook until the second lap of the circuit cyclist where he managed to catch up with the group of Noya and Mola. In a third group he was from the beginning Fernando Alarza that comes from an injury.

During the 20 km of cycling the brothers printed a strong rhythm that made them start the race on foot with 56 seconds of advantage over Javier Gómez Noya's group, Mario Mola and Richard Murray.

The 5 kilometers of race were a walk for the Bronwlee who were together all the way until in the last meters Jonathan Bronwlee  I attack achieving victory with 6 seconds ahead of his brother Alistair Bronwlee and with 56 seconds on the third classified the German Gregor Buchholz.

In the group behind Javier Gómez Noya He stayed behind until he withdrew from the test due to stomach problems. On the other hand, a great Mario Mola I make a great comeback as we are accustomed to reach the 4º final position in an exciting sprint.

The rest of the Spaniards were Vicente Hernández in a great fifteenth position, Jesús Gomar in 23ª, Cesc Godoy in 27ª and Fernando Alarza in a great 32º position.

Javier Gómez Noya continues leading the ranking with 3.833 points followed by Englishman Jonathan Brownlee with 3.551 and Mario Mola with 3.491 points. Noya is worth finishing in fourth position in the Edmonton Grand Final to get his 4º world title
