Lucy Charles-Barclay and Chelsea Sodaro will not be at the T100 Grand Final in Dubai

triathletes Lucy Charles (GBR) and Chelsea Sodaro (USA), two of the most prominent figures in world triathlon, will miss the grand final of the T100 circuit in Dubai, scheduled for this Saturday.

Both, world champions HOMBRE DE HIERRO in 2023 and 2022 respectively, have confirmed that they will not be on the starting line of the event taking place in the United Arab Emirates.

Lucy Charles-Barclay, who currently sits tenth in the T100 standings, has decided not to take part due to a diagnosis of celiac disease, which has negatively impacted his preparation.

For its part, Chelsea Sodaro has also decided to end its 2024 season early.

“This year has been full of change and growth. I feel like it’s time to rebuild and move forward,” Sodaro said on her Instagram account.

The absence of these two triathletes has led the organizers to add several wildcards to complete the list of participants, which now includes Kate Curran (GBR), Marlene DeBoer (NED), Diede diederiks (NED) and Sara Pérez Sala (ESP)

The big favorite to take the title in Dubai is the American superstar Taylor Knibb, who has dominated the T100 circuit during the season, winning all three races he has participated in.
