Marcel Zamora and Dolça Olle win ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN Salou

The first test of the middle distance circuit ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN is settled with the victory of Marcel Zamora who, with a time of 3: 48: 04, reached an average of 45 km / h in cycling.

 

 

This Sunday, May 11, ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN He has lived the first of the five tests that make up his 2014 calendar. On this occasion, Salou has dawned with 1.200 triathletes who, from 14 countries around the world, have been protagonists of a competition marked by the new cycling route.

 

With 1.900 meters of swimming, 86 kilometers of cycling and 21 kilometers of running, Marcel Zamora, winner in five consecutive editions of the Ironman of Nice and quadruple champion of the EmbrunMan, has mastered the test from start to finish. In this way, and after a very fast bike that has reached 45 km / h, the Catalan has managed to stop the chronometer in 3: 48: 04.

 

With more than 10 minutes ahead of the second classified, and after winning the triumph, the international triathlete has highlighted the cycling segment, "a very fast circuit, but at the same time very demanding, by the continuous changes of grade". In addition, he wanted to highlight "the good atmosphere" of the event, one of the characteristics of the Extreme Man circuit which, according to Marcel, "is a guarantee for the popular triathlete in the face of the quality of the race".

 

Next to him, the male podium has been completed Manel Vaca, second with a time of 03: 59: 17, which has encouraged "everyone who practices a sport to participate in a triathlon such as ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN Salou". The third step of the podium was for Sebastien Jossi, in 03: 59: 44.

 

New season, Dolça Olle's new victory

In the women's category, Dolça Olle started as favorite and, fulfilling the predictions, she won the 04 triumph: 24: 43. Thus, the winner of ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN Menorca, last test of the circuit in 2013, starts the season adding a new victory. Great premiere of speed points

Salou has experienced the premiere of one of the novelties in ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN: special stages in the cycling and running sector, baptized as speed points. This new challenge for the triathletes has had as first winners Sergi Escobar, in cycling, and Guillermo Gabas, in the race on foot. In the women's category, the first to enter this new prize have been Aurelie Larrousse, in cycling, and Clara Hernández, in the race on foot.

 

The event closed with the awards ceremony, which was attended by Felip Ortiz, Salou Councilor for Sports, and Julien Blondin, Isostar product manager. The nutritional brand, official partner of the circuit for the second consecutive year, contributes once again to improving the performance of the participants through its wide range of products.

After the great experience lived in the Tarragona town of Salou, ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN moves to Germany, where, the next 1 in June, the Düren test opens. There, the current world champion Frederik Van Lierde, who won in Salou in 2013, will look for a new triumph in this circuit.
