Marcel Zamora and Gurutze Frades winners of ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN Getxo

The current Spanish long distance champion, Gurutze Frades, and the big favorite Marcel Zamora, sign their victory in the second appointment of 2013 ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN in Getxo.


Yesterday it was held in Getxo the second edition of ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN Getxo. A total of 500 triathletes Participants took part in the start where the favorite Marcel Zamora and the local triathlete of the Mugarra Triatlon club, Guturze Frades, have sealed their victory with a clear advantage over their rivals.


In the men's category, the start took place at 8.00h in the morning, offering the audience an exciting start to the race, when the three great favorites practically matched arrived at the transition.
Only 7 seconds ahead achieved Zamora (29: 22 versus 29: 29) on his pursuer, Albert Moreno. Mikel Elgezabal with 6 seconds of difference accompanied these triathletes, not being up to the cycling segment when the differences were marked.


As expected, Zamora He knew how to take advantage of his great potential by bike, achieving 5 minutes of advantage when he reached the T2. Despite the spectacle that has been offered at this event by having a triathlete of the stature of Marcel Zamora, the emotion has been put on this occasion by Albert Moreno and Raúl Amatriain, who fought side by side until the
last 5 km of the race on foot.

The second and third place of the podium was not defined until this last segment, where Albert Moreno He knew how to show his credentials, making the second best partial after Marcel Zamora with a time of 01:13:46 in completing the 21 km of race on foot, which gave him the title of runner-up of the test followed just two minutes from Raúl Amatriain, current Champion of Spain of Average Distance, who arrived in third position at the finish line.


In the female category, Gurutze Frades, and fulfilling the statements made to the press the day before the test, signed his victory. With her clear objective, the Basque triathlete came out ahead in the swimming sector and was already looking to achieve the best partial cycling and later confirm her leadership in the race on foot.
