The Mallorcan has achieved his third consecutive victory in the test and further strengthens the world

Today one of the classics of the WTS circuit, the test of Hamburg, where the best specialty triathletes met. Mario Mola current world leader, was the great favorite for victory in the test, where he was looking for his third consecutive victory, after having achieved it in 2016 and 2017.

In the test Fernando Alarza and Vicente Hernández reappeared, after their injuries along with Uxío Abuín who was again participating in a WTS.

The test that was disputed on sprint distance, started at 16:40 in the afternoon with a 750-meter swim, where the fastest to complete the distance was the Belgian Marten Van Riel followed by the group of favorites led by Vicent Luis and Richard Varga. Uxío Abuín started at 11 seconds, Mario Mola at 15, Vicente Hernández at 22 and Fernando Alarza at 23

In the fast cycling segment with six laps, a group of 12 units was formed, where Kristian Blummenfelt, Jonathan Brownlee or Vicent Luis were, in this there was no Spanish. Since they were behind at 8 seconds.

The leading group was broken by an attack by the British Jonathan Brownlee, to which Blummenfelt and Luis responded, from behind the chasing group was unified with the rest of the favorites and went through the second lap with a 12-second disadvantage in passing through the half of the circuit.

Little by little the trio was increasing the advantage to get to the T2 with 18 seconds ahead of the chasing group with the rest of the favorites.

In the 5 km race on foot, we experienced an exciting sector, seeing how ahead they tried to maintain the advantage and behind with Mario Mola trying to cut the distance from the head of the race.

From the first moment Jonathan Brownlee began to pull the group leaving with Vicent Luis leaving Blummenfelt behind who seemed injured. Behind Richard Murray followed by Mario Mola they also left in search of the leading group.

In the passage through the first lap, Brownlee and Blummenfelt were still in the lead but Murray was closing the distance passing just 4 seconds, Mola fourth went to 6 seconds.

Less than 2 km to the finish, Mario Mola took the lead pulling the group, leaving with Brownlee trying to leave the rest of the fight for victory.

Finally Mario Mola , with a devastating attack with 1 km to go, he left alone to achieve the final victory in a time of 53:24. The second was Vicent Luis (53: 29) followed by Richard Murray (53:32) occupying the third final position. Fernando Alarza finished in 15th position, Vicente Hernández was 38th and UXío Abuín the 42nd
