Marta Pintanel and Izan Edo win in Águilas

It was the second qualifier for the Spanish Duathlon Championship

The Águilas Carnival Duathlon held its 31st edition yesterday in an energetic atmosphere.

It was the second qualifier for the Spanish Duathlon Championship 2025, an event that will take place in Cáceres at the end of March.

Marta Pintanel (independent) and Izan Edo (University of Alicante Triathlon) won the elite women's and men's categories, respectively, leading an unforgettable sporting weekend.

More than 550 Duathletes in Action

More than 550 participants gathered during the day, including elite athletes seeking their pass to the National, age groups and promotion categories.

Behind they arrived Pilar García (Stadium Casablanca Mapei) and Marina Camps (CEA Bétera), who completed the podium.

The decisive arrival of Izan Edo

The men's event was very close. Izan Edo, from the University of Alicante Triathlon, crossed the finish line in 52:51.

The second place was taken by Daniel Alvarez (Triatló Cornellá) just seven seconds after an exciting battle that also involved Eloy Canales (Edo's teammate), who finished third by a narrow margin.

Fourth place went to Abraham Garcia (Albacete Res Triathlon) and the fifth for Stanislaus Lawrence (Slots-Viator-Mercaluz).

With the results obtained in this second qualifier, the duathletes are already focusing their preparation on the 2025 Spanish Duathlon Championship, which will be held in Cáceres in a few weeks.
