If you are one of those looking for a challenge for the next month of May, Club Santa in Lanzarote will become the epicentre of triathlon with two renowned events: the Volcano Triathlon and the Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote.
At national and international level, these sporting events have been bringing together the best athletes for years, as well as hundreds of fans who want to embark on the adventure.

Volcano Triathlon: The oldest event in Spain
El Volcano Triathlon It will be held May 3th 2025, maintaining a legacy that began in 1984.
This event, considered the oldest international triathlon in Spain, brings together elite athletes and popular triathletes who want to try a Olympic distance balanced:
- Swimming (1,5 km): The tour takes place in the quiet lagoon of Club La Santa.
- Cycling (40 km): In a single lap, participants will pass through Caleta de Caballo, Soo and Famara, until they reach the turn on the Famara-Teguise road.
- Running on foot (10 km): It consists of two laps that begin and end at the Club La Santa stadium.
Since its first edition, it has hosted great figures, including several World Champions who do not hesitate to come back to this classic year after year.
Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote: A legendary challenge
For those looking for an even greater challenge, the 33rd edition of the Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote took place on May 17th 2025.
Talking about IRONMAN in Lanzarote is synonymous with toughness and impressive landscapes, as you will travel across an island declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, with more than 300 volcanic cones that provide an environment as beautiful as it is demanding.
- Qualifying spots for the 2025 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship: If your goal is to compete at the elite level, this event offers slots for the World Championships in Nice (September 14 for men) and Kailua-Kona, Hawaii (October 11 for women).
- Ironman distance (3,8 km – 180,2 km – 42,2 km):
- Swimming (3,8 km): It takes place in Playa Grande, in Puerto del Carmen, with a “Rolling Swim Start” type exit.
- Cycling (180,2 km): Just one turn and it crosses iconic places such as La Geria and Mirador del Río, until returning to Puerto del Carmen.
- Running on foot (42,2 km): With three laps around Avenida de Las Playas, you will enjoy the energy of the public and the Canarian sun until you cross the finish line.
Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote It is considered one of the most difficult tests on the IRONMAN circuit worldwide, and many athletes claim that you do not become a true “Iron Man” until you overcome it.
