The Mediterranean Triathlon 2025 starts in Valencia with a proposal for all audiences

Valencia is preparing to kick off the Mediterranean 2025 Triathlon with a notable novelty: the Valencia Duathlon by MTRI, an event designed to attract both experienced triathletes and families wishing to get started in the world of duathlon.

This initiative, which will be held in full Alameda walk, maintains the essence of making triathlon accessible to all levels and ages.

With more than 150 registered participants after just one weekend of registration opening, the 2025 Mediterranean Triathlon is already showing signs of being a success again.

The event has a limit of 600 places and maintains the individual and couples supersprint modality (1.5 km of running, 6 km of cycling and 1 km of running).

In addition, the double supersprint format is added, uncommon in the Valencian Community but common on the national circuit.

A Family Duathlon to promote inclusion in sport

The main novelty this year is the modality of Family Duathlon, which aims to make sport a shared experience for adults and children.

The youngest children, from five to thirteen years old, can participate accompanied by an adult, forming teams that will compete in three age categories.

Distances vary by age, ensuring that the event is accessible and fun for all participants:

  • Exit 1: Ages 5 to 7 years (200 m run, 500 m cycle and 150 m run).
  • Exit 2: Ages 8 to 10 years (300 m run, 700 m cycle and 150 m run).
  • Exit 3: Ages 11 to 13 years (400 m run, 1.000 m cycle and 150 m run).

The price to participate in this modality is 10 euros per couple, an affordable cost to encourage the participation of families from Valencia and surrounding areas.

This rate includes the race number, timing chip, a finisher medal and post-finish refreshments.

Initiatives to involve local clubs

This year, the organization of the Mediterranean Triathlon also seeks to encourage the participation of local sports clubs, including for the first time the option of registering teams from clubs that are not necessarily triathlon clubs.

In this way, we aim to encourage running clubs in Valencia and surrounding areas to join this experience, with the added attraction of a ham for the largest club. The aim is to make the event a meeting point for athletes from different disciplines.

Open

Registrations for the Mediterranean Triathlon will remain at a reduced price until next month. January 9.

From this date, prices will increase until the final closing of registrations on February 16. The current rates are as follows:

  • Family Duathlon: 10 euros.
  • Individual Supersprint: 15 euros.
  • Supersprint couples and double supersprint: 25 euros.

It is worth noting that the price of the family duathlon will remain fixed until the closing date.
