Mediterranean EPIC Triathlon opens registrations
In 2025 it will be the Spanish Long Distance Championship
Today, November 4th, the registration period opens Mediterranean Epic Triathlon, to be held May 24th 2025 in Oropesa del Mar and will once again host the Spanish Long Distance Triathlon Championship.
The test, which will determine who will take over from Francisco de la Paz and Judith Corachán, current Spanish champions, will have three other distances, as in 2024: HALF distance, Aquabike, OLYMPIC y SPRINT.
These last two will take place the following day, Sunday, May 25.
Registration fees for the FULL distance (Spanish Long Distance Championship)
- Places 001 – 100: 215 EUR
- Places 101 – 250: 260 EUR
- Places 251 – 400: 315 EUR
- From 400: 360 EUR
- Elite Spanish Championship: 249 EUR (one-time fee)
- Aquabike Spanish Long Distance Championship: 199 EUR (single rate)
Registration for the category elite of the Spanish LD Championship will open in January 2025, once the official dates have been confirmed by the Spanish Triathlon Federation. The single fee for this category will be 249 EUR.
Special prices for clubs
Clubs that register multiple participants will be eligible for a volume discount: 10% discount will apply for 10 participants, 15% discount for 15 participants, and 20% discount for 20 or more participants.
Spanish Long Distance Championship Routes
Swimming: 3.800 metres in two laps of 1.900 m, with turning and orientation buoys, and a return buoy at the start of the second lap in front of the Magic World area.
Cycling: 178 km divided into three laps of 59,3 km, with a cumulative elevation gain of 1.560 m.
Foot race: 42 km on a flat 10,5 km circuit, with four laps that will go from one end of Oropesa del Mar to the other.
Up to five distances in total
In addition to the Spanish Long Distance Championship, the Mediterranean EPIC Triathlon will offer additional events for those who prefer other distances. On Saturday 24 May, the Half Triathlon and Aquabike Full and Half events will also take place, while on Sunday 25 May, the OLYMPIC and SPRINT events will be held.
In this edition, to give more importance to the Spanish Long Distance Championship and to allow participants to enjoy a cleaner cycling segment, the middle distance race will start in the middle of the morning, several hours later than those registered for the 226 kilometres.
