Less than 1 month to go until IRONMAN Portugal. You can still participate

The date for the dispute of the IRONMAN Portugal-Cascais is getting closer and the anticipation for the race is growing too.

A few days ago it was announced that all the places for the  HOMBRE DE HIERRO 70.3, leaving only a few places available for relays and Nirvana packages.

However, triathletes who still want to be part of one of the most iconic events in the world calendar European still have the opportunity to participate in the Full distance, which will be held next 19th October 2024 in the iconic town of Cascais.

Changes in Cycling Circuits

The cycling route, one of the most spectacular parts of the IRONMAN Portugal, has been renovated for this edition, offering a 180 km route divided into two laps, improving the triathlete's experience.

Participants will be able to enjoy landscapes such as Guincho Beach and the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, crossing the Estrada do Guincho towards Malveira and the Serra de Sintra. In addition, the route will pass by iconic spots such as the Blue Lagoon and the famous Formula 1 Circuit of Estoril, among other highlights.

Cascais: More than a sports destination

Cascais is much more than just the venue for the IRONMAN; it is a destination that combines history, culture and sport.

The city, known for its beaches, picturesque old town and elegant mansions, becomes the perfect setting for both competitors and their companions.

Visitors can enjoy a wide range of tourist attractions, from walks along the Cascais Marina to the obligatory visit to the Palacio da Cidadela or the Boca do Inferno, an impressive cliff that is one of the most photographed spots in the region.

In addition, the rich local cuisine, with fresh fish and seafood, and the friendliness of its inhabitants, make Cascais an ideal place to combine sport and relaxation.

It is, without a doubt, a destination that offers something for everyone, from the most experienced athletes to those simply looking to enjoy a different weekend.
