Mediterranean Triathlon València, the most crowded triathlon in the city returns in September with the Triathlon World Cup

There is only a month and a half left for the great triathlon event in Valencia

Mediterranean Triathlon Valencia faces the final stretch of inscriptions. There is barely a month and a half left for the competition, which will take place on September 3 and 4.

La Marina will once again be the scene of a vertiginous weekend for the sport of triathlon, with competitions in the 3 reference distances: supersprint, sprint y Olympic.

And the possibility of competing individually and in pairs, which is undoubtedly a great incentive for all those who want to debut in the demanding sport of the 3 disciplines.

And it is that MTRI and the city of Valencia are the perfect setting for triathlon practice. A space like La Marina will welcome the participants, with the Veles e Vents building as the incomparable setting and back of many of the images that will remain in the memory among the registered triathletes.

In addition, the great avenues that are traveled by bicycle, and the surroundings of the sheds will put an end to each of the competitions with the foot race.

"One more year MTRI València is located in the regional, national and international calendar with the World Cup. We live the preparations with great enthusiasm and desire to once again celebrate a test open to the public, with schedules and services adapted to the needs of the triathlete and where you can enjoy 3 days of the best triathlon in the city of Valencia.

A test that would not be possible without the support of the Valencia City Council, the Diputació de València, Turismo València, GVA, FTA and La Marina de València, in addition to our national and international counterparts, FETRI and World Triathlon.

A test designed for both the novice participant and the expert triathlete. A safe competition that runs between La Marina de València, Calle Serrería and Avenida del Puerto.

Ideal setting for both the participant and the rest of the family. And also a reference as an event that supports paratriathlon, hosting this year the Regional Paratriathlon Championship, where we invite adapted athletes to start practicing this sport", vanessa huesa, President of the Triathlon Federation of the Valencian Community.

More from 1.200 participants

The test currently has more than 1.200 registered participants, and the figures continue to grow day by day in a year that represents the return of the Mediterranean Triathlon circuit in its original version. The competition has just closed the celebration of the second venue, Castellón, and in April it opened the calendar with Alicante.

Until now, more than 2.000 triathletes have faced the triathlon in both cities, in which the satisfaction of the participant has been the usual tonic after crossing the MTRI finish line.

Registration open until August 24

Registration for Valencia will be open until August 24.

From the Organization different parallel actions have been activated with entities of the city, as is the case of the training group 'Together is better', with which last Saturday, July 9, a swimming drill was carried out in the surroundings of Malvarrosa Beach, as well as running training.

The objective of these meetings is to answer questions and encourage participation in a demanding sport, which requires time and prior preparation to debut.

Cash prizes for clubs with the highest participation

The greater participation in the 3 events of the circuit will mean for the clubs the possibility of reaching important cash prizes, being €1.000 for the 1st team, €600 for the 2nd and €300 for the 3rd.

With this award from the Organization it is intended to encourage, not only the registration of more and more participants, but also the attractiveness of the federative license, activated in our case from the Triathlon Federation of the Valencian Community or from any other autonomous federation.

Membership in a club in the sport of triathlon is necessarily linked to having a federative license.

In this sense, MTRI València is the last test of the circuit. Therefore, at the end, in addition to giving the usual prizes to the absolute winners, by clubs and categories, the prizes will be awarded to the final ranking of the circuit, as well as the finisher jersey to the participants in the 3 cities.

Triathlon World Cup #ValènciaWC

"The city of Valencia has become accustomed to hosting a major triathlon event every year and the celebration of the Triathlon World Cup in September is a source of pride. Every year València puts itself in the spotlight of the triathlon world, it is becoming a reference.

For the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation and our president, Juan Roig, that this land is recognized in the world of sport, in general, is a great satisfaction and encourages us to continue working to build the Comunitat de l'Esport that we all want“, Juan Miguel Gómez, Director of the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation.

The city of Valencia will once again host, for the second year, a Triathlon World Cup. The best international triathletes will compete in the sprint distance competition on Saturday afternoon.

Let us remember that in 2020, when Valencia held its first Triathlon World Cup, triathletes of the stature of Vincent Louis, Kristian Blummenfelt, Alistair Brownlee, Beth Potter, Nicola Spirig... competed in the city accompanied by the best triathletes on the national scene, such as Antonio Serrat, Anna Godoy or the Valencians Roberto Sánchez and Noelia Juan. In September, 65 men and 65 women will be part of a start list that we will know weeks before the competition.

"We return to one of the circuits that since its inception is one of the most emblematic and iconic on the world calendar. Valencia is once again organizing the World Cup, which during the pandemic has already proven to be a benchmark for organizers around the world and for athletes.

And it also returns wanting to recover its full potential, celebrating not only the international competition but also hosting the popular triathlon again and turning this event into the Valencian triathlon party”, José Hidalgo, President of the Spanish Triathlon Federation.
