María Pujol and Miguel Ángel Fidalgo, the two Spaniards in contention in the ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championship played this September 24, have achieved remarkable results in the US city of Oklahoma. Both triathletes have achieved Top-10 in their respective categories.

Oklahoma has offered a first third of competition of 4 km in Lake Hefner, followed by 120 km distributed in four cycling laps integrated by slopes and with the addition of the characteristic wind and humidity of the area. To finish, three laps of 10 km of foot race in a mainly flat segment.

The gold has been for the French Sylvain Sudrie, the silver for his compatriot Cyril Viennot and the bronze medal for the local triathlete Matt Chrabot. The Spaniard has come out well positioned in the water, maintaining a very regular level, which has led him to reach an outstanding seventh place.

While Maria Pujol has also made a very complete competition, which has led her to cross the finish line in tenth position. Ahead the British Jodie Swallow has taken the world title, with the Swiss Caroline Steffen getting the runner-up and the Canadian Rachel Mcbride the third place in play.
