Miriam Casillas and David Castro achieve their best result in the World Series

Cagliari welcomed its debut in the Triathlon World Series after many years of organizing the World Cup event.

In the competition where Spain had 10 representatives, the best were Miriam Casillas y David Castro They finished in fifth position.

In the women's event the victory went to Georgia Taylor-Brown followed by Emma lombardi  y Taylor Knibb .

Miriam was fifth and her training partner, the North American Taylor Spivey, fourth, with the also North American Kirsten Casper being sixth.

Regarding the rest of the Spanish women, the best of ours was Anna Godoy, finishing in 29th place and closely followed by Martha Pintanel, 32 ª.

After them the Galician reached the finish line Sara Guerrero, in the 45th position, while the Valencian Noelia Juan had to give up cycling to be lapped.

Being the only one of the three rookies to not be able to finish the test, in a great season where she has managed to finish in the Top Ten both in the European Championship and in the World Cups in Valencia and Pontevedra.

Alex Yee was the fastest in the men's event followed by Jonathan Brownlee and by Manoel Messias in third position.

In fifth position, his best result to date, entered a great David Castro confirming the great state of form exhibited in Banyoles and that he returned five years later to the World Series, his last result was in Hamburg in 2017.

Another Spaniard who made his debut today was Sergio Baxter, which was born in 2000 premiered in Cagiari and finished in a creditable 14th place.

After him, and confirming the improvement in form that he has experienced, he entered 15th position Antonio Serrat, improving on his last two World Series appearances in Hamburg and Montreal.

Finally, in 25th place came the Catalan Genis Grau, who was in the race at all times and continues to gain experience and points in these highly demanding tests.
