Miyazaki, the last Triathlon World Cup of the Season
This weekend, the 2024 Triathlon World Cup Series draws to a close in the coastal city of Miyazaki, Japan, with the event taking place in sprint triathlon format.
La competición se desarrollará el sábado 9 de noviembre con un recorrido de natación de 750 metros, un recorrido en bike de 20 kilómetros y una carrera de 5 kilómetros a lo largo de la bahía..
Previous male
For men, all eyes will be on Kenji nener, who arrives at the competition as the favourite and with the number one jersey.
After a standout year in which he was crowned Asian Champion and finished in 15th position at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Nener will finally be looking to claim his first World Cup victory.
However, the race will not be easy, as the French delegation has fast triathletes such as Yanis Seguín y Valentin Morlec, who proved to be among the fastest in Rome last month.
They also highlight Ben Dijkstra, Takumi hojo, Reese Vannerson, Aurelien Jem y Maxime Hueber-Moosbrugger, who could impose a very demanding pace in the 5 kilometer race.
Spanish will also be there Stephen Basanta in the men's event
Gwen Jorgensen leads the women's category
In the women's category, the big attraction will be the presence of Gwen Jorgensen, Olympic champion in Rio 2016 and one of the most recognized athletes in the history of triathlon.
Jorgensen arrives in Miyazaki looking to improve on the second place he achieved here last year and leave behind a complicated 2024, marked by injuries such as a broken collarbone.
Another competitor to keep in mind is the Belgian jolien vermeylen, who arrives with high confidence after winning her first World Cup title in Tongyeong just ten days ago.
Sara Guerrero will be our representative in this category
