MTRI Alicante, first spectacular day, with 600 triathletes completing their challenge

50% of the weekend played in MTRI Alicante with the start of the supersprint and sprint distances, and nearly 600 participants with a new challenge overcome.

The competition began at 9.00:XNUMX a.m., although the day started early for all triathletes, who had to check their equipment first thing in the morning, regardless of their distance and start.

The sea greeted the participants with immense calm, an important advantage for many and faces of satisfaction, even more so taking into account the high percentage of non-federated members who registered, and the desire of the majority to debut with a calm sea.

The first podium arrived in the blink of an eye, in supersprint distance, with the triathlete from La 208 Triatlón Club, Hazael Seguí, who with his less than 37' inaugurated the goal of MTRI Alicante 2024. He would be closely followed by Pedro Segrelles and Sergio Domene who closed the men's podium.

In women, Silvie Hradilova from CT Arena Alicante conquered the finish line in first place. Her sister Sara would do the same to her, some time later, this time in the second box of the sprint distance. Eva Camarés from CT Albacete Res, and Mª del Carmen Iñiesta from Pasico a Pasico Orihuela – Talleres del Rubio accompanied Silvie in the supersprint distance.

Sprint Distance

En Sprint distance, Claudia Breso Juan – Universidad Alicante with 1.13.52, leader of the swimming and cycling segment. The 2nd classified, Sára Hradilová from CT Arena Alicante, leader of the foot race, who ended up entering about 6' after Claudia, and 3rd María Julia Jarillo from CEC Antella – Alejandro Sanz with 1.20.45.

First place in the men's classification went to Francisco Javier Pelegrín Martínez from CT Albacete Res, with his teammate Pedro de la Torre, third. The 2nd position went to Sergio Moreno Estévez from the University of Alicante.

The pairs occurred among the participants in individual format. 175 triathletes, boys and girls, went out together to compete in sprint and supersprint pairs. The 3 modalities would be represented on the podiums: mixed couples, female couples and male couples.

By clubs, in the absence of tomorrow's Sunday, when the Olympic, individual and pairs will take place, CT Albacete Res seems to be on track to once again lead the classification of the team circuit, which has the prize in material from the technical partner of the brand, 42K.

Upon reaching the finish line, all participants were able to enjoy sustainable provisioning, thanks to the delivery of a personalized circuit glass to drink at the post-finish finish. Additionally, in the arrival area they had free finisher medal recording service, as well as an expo area with MTRI merchandising and the presence of technical triathlon brands.

TRAM Alicante service modifications

 The connection between Porta del Mar and Sangueta will be interrupted between 5 a.m. and 17 p.m. on Sunday.

MTRI Alicante has the support of Alicante Sports, the Alicante Provincial Council, and Turisme de la Comunitat Valenciana; as well as the collaboration of the 42K Running and Nutrisport brands. In addition, the Bouquet and CIM Formación brands are added. The test is co-organized by the Triatló Federation of the Valencian Community with the local club, Apolana Atletismo.
