A triathlete dies at the IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta

A tragedy has occurred again in a triathlon for the second year in a row.

The IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta has confirmed the death of Evelyn López, 44 years old of age.

Evelyn was competing in the triathlon when shee remained without reaction during the swimming part.

After being pulled from the water by a rescue team, she was taken to Augusta University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 5:40 p.m.

This is the second consecutive year in which a competitor dies during Augusta's career.
