The fine of €200 from the DGT that can put cyclists

The cycling community did not like the tweet published by the DGT on the use of hard shoulders on highways.

How can the DGT comment that if cyclists do not use the right shoulder on a road, they may be fined.

"On the road, #cyclists must use the hard shoulder to their right, if it exists, to circulate. They will only be able to abandon it on prolonged descents in safe conditions. Occupy the road when it is possible to drive on the hard shoulder: €200 fine

This usually happens due to the cleanliness situation that the shoulders usually have, since their lack of cleanliness in some areas can be dangerous for cyclists who choose to ride on the road.

The General Directorate of Highways says that it is aware of this problem and that it is making efforts to clean it up.

circular in parallel

Another rule that causes controversy is the parallel circulation on the highway

The DGT indicates that cyclists are allowed to circulate in rows of two on the road, pulling as far as possible to the right of the road.

On the other hand, in sections without visibility (such as curves) and when they form crowds, they will not be able to circulate in parallel and must be placed in a row.
