AZORES TRITON is born, a different and exciting format

El AZORES TRITON , is part of the circuit TRITON World Series , a global long-distance multi-sport racing circuit, focusing on the three segments of triathlon: swimming, cycling, and running. The first edition will be held on October 18,19, 20 and XNUMX at the Azores islands (Portugal)

What is peculiar about this type of competition is that each segment is done separately in 3 days of competition, celebrating one segment per day adding the times in each discipline to know the winner. Each day the professional athletes will start with the time difference achieved in the previous test, thus having as a reference the one in front of them in the classification, guaranteeing the emotion at all times.

Various ways to participate

Participants can choose to do the segment of individual wayas equipmentas company as elite athlete (This will have to participate in all tests) or just participate in the segment that they like.

3 distances to choose

The competition offers 3 modalities in which to participate:

• Shorts: Swimming: 1,5 km - cycling: 50 km - running: 10 km
• Half: Swimming 3 km - cycling 100 km - running: 20 km
• Full: Swimming 4,5 km - cycling 150 km - running: 30 km

The first event of the series will take place in Portugal, in the beautiful archipelago of Azores islands.

The Azores are located between Europe and North America. Its islands have a total area of ​​2,355 km2 and it takes approximately 3 hours to arrive from Spain.

The circuits

Swimming will take place in Vila Franca do Campo, the home of the famous “Ilhéu”, a small paradise that is located in front of the coast.

Located opposite the city of Vila Franca do Campo, it is surrounded by approximately 1 km from the coast, the islet is the result of the crater of a ancient submerged volcano, and is one of the main tourist attractions of São Miguel.

Classified as a Nature Reserve, the walls of its crater are covered by endemic vegetation, while in its interior there is a natural lake almost perfectly circular, which is linked to the sea by a narrow channel.
