FETRI publishes the changes to the regulations for 2025

On December 18, the Spanish Triathlon Federation (FETRI) published circular 10/24, which includes the Regulatory Bases for Official Federated Competitions for 2025.

These regulations define the participation criteria, competition format and specific rules that will apply in championships, national leagues and FETRI rankings next year. Here we summarize the main new features so that you don't miss any details.

Elite participation and uniformity standards

The elite category introduces Adjustments to participation criteria, with the aim of being more equitable and fair. These changes ensure that the selected triathletes meet high standards of classification and performance.

As for the standards of uniformity, have been made more flexible, allowing athletes to choose between uniforms with or without sleeves, providing more options for greater comfort and performance in testing.

News in youth categories and relays

For the categories Junior, Youth and Cadet, a is incorporated Final B in tests of Supersprint triathlon and duathlon, improving competitive opportunities in preliminaries.

Furthermore, in line with the guidelines of World triathlon, the mixed relays now They will start with the girls, promoting gender equality. Modifications in the Spanish Championship

El Spanish Time Trial Team Championship will include different participation criteria depending on the modality:

  • triathlon: King/Queen's Cup for elite and Federation Cup for age groups (GGEE).
  • Duathlon: Spanish CRE Championship for elite and Federation Cup for GGEE.

Rankings, awards and new opportunities

To improve consistency in output listings, the rankings will be published earlier than in previous seasons, rewarding the results of the current year. The number of qualifying places in the Sprint and Olympic modalities will also be increased, rising to 120.
