The new IRONMAN Barcelona Cycling Circuit announced
El HOMBRE DE HIERRO Calella-Barcelona has announced the new cycling circuit for the 2024 edition, coinciding with the celebration of the 10th anniversary of this emblematic race.
This redesign promises to offer an improved, faster and less hilly experience for the 3200 athletes expected to participate this year.
The new IRONMAN Calella-Barcelona 2024 cycling circuit extends over 180 km, spread over two laps of 90 km each.
The accumulated positive slope of 750 meters, The course will not only be faster, but will allow participants to enjoy greater distance.
For the first time, cyclists will be able to ride from the picturesque city of Calella to the doors of Barcelona, spinning in the vibrant city of Badalona.
The renewed circuit will include passages through the charming town of Teiá and will visit other picturesque coastal towns such as Masnou, Vilassar de Mar, Cabrera de Mar, Mataró and Arenys de Mar, among others.
This new design is a testament to the IRONMAN commitment to innovation and excellence, always seeking to provide a better experience to all the athletes who travel to Calella every year to participate in one of the best IRONMAN in Europe.
Let's remember that this year not IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona will take place, which makes the complete edition even more special.
To ensure the safety of all participants, exhaustive measures have been implemented that include medical assistance, volunteers and up to eight refreshment points along the route.
These measures ensure that each athlete can enjoy a safe and well-supported experience throughout the competition.
The event is scheduled for next 6th October 2024, and registrations are practically sold out, with a 95% of the places already sold.
