Pablo Dapena sixth in the Sprint Triathlon European Cup in Riga

Pablo Dapena has achieved a remarkable sixth position in the ETU Sprint Triathlon European Cup held this August 9 in Riga.

 

 

The Latvian capital has presented a circuit consisting of a first segment of 750 m of swimming. Then 20 km cyclists and to finish the contest, 5 km final of the race on foot.

Pablo Dapena He has completed a great performance, placing himself in the first positions from the beginning and maintaining a very regular level in the three sectors. However, some problems in his passage through the second transition made him lose valuable seconds before the start of the decisive stretch of the race on foot. Even so, the Galician triathlete did his best in this last third of the race, climbing positions and marking the sixth best partial of the sector, to finally culminate an outstanding competition in sixth place with a final time of 54 minutes and 14 seconds.

Behind, the other Spanish at the helm, Guillermo Cuchillo He also offered a great job. A test in which excelled his work during the cycling tour, which obtained the seventh best mark in the sector and after performing at a good level, achieved the 28 position, stopping the clock in 55 minutes and 26 seconds.

The podium was headed by Alexander Bryukhankov. Next to the Russian triathlete Oleksiy Syutkin (Ukraine) got the silver medal and the Belgian Simon De Cuyper the bronze medal
