Paul Thompson will be at the 2012 Enduroman

The winner of the 2011 edition of the Double Enduroman from Lanzarote, Paul Thompson, you have just registered to participate again in this test that will be held on the 4th and 5th February 2012 on the Canary Island of Lanzarote within the II ENDUROMAN LANZAROTE TRIATHLON FESTIVAL.

So far the registrations to participate in any of the four tests that will be held in the town of Playa Blanca (Yaiza) are much higher than last year and the fact that the number of foreign triathletes registered is, for the moment, higher than that of nationals stands out.

As you will remember, this triathlon festival contemplates the celebration, at the same time, of four triathlon events of different distances:

- Olympic Enduroman (swimming, 1,5 km; bike, 40 km and race, 10 km).

- Half Enduroman (swimming, 1,9 km; cycling, 90 km and running, 21 km).

- Enduroman (swimming, 3,8 km; cycling, 180 km and running, 42,19 km).

- Double Enduroman (swimming, 7,6 km; cycling, 360 km and running, 84,39 km).

As regards the circuits that have been drawn up for the tests of the II Enduroman Lanzarote Triathlon Festival next year I can tell you that he swimming circuit For the four tests (Double Enduroman, Enduroman, Half Enduroman and Olympic Enduroman) it will be located on the beach in the center of the town of Playa Blanca and will be delimited by the beach, buoys and a jetty.

La bicycle stage For Double Enduroman, Enduroman, Medium Enduroman and Olympic Enduroman, it will take place on a circuit that runs parallel to the coast of the Volcanoes Natural Park and the Timanfaya National Park.

The walking stages They will be carried out on a 2,630 km circuit parallel to the Playa Blanca promenade in which Double Enduroman triathletes will have to complete 32 laps, Enduroman 16 laps and Medium Enduroman eight laps. Participants in the Olympic Enduroman test must complete this stage of running on a 3,33 km circuit in the same area. The difference of this circuit with respect to the one previously described is that the return point will be further away and that the participants will have to travel it three times.

The star test is undoubtedly the Double Enduroman of Lanzarote, scored by the IUTA and considered as the toughest test held in Spain because, in addition to the extreme lengths of each section, it has the characteristic that it is “non stop”, Without stops, so triathletes have to spend, on average, almost two days to complete it. The maximum time is 40 hours. This year's champion, Paul Thompson, it took only 24 hours, 14 minutes and 35 seconds to complete the test. A feat.

I enclose separately photographs of Paul Thompson and the promotional printed material that the Cabildo de Lanzarote is already using outside of Spain.
