Paula Herrero and Kevin Tarek champions of Spain in Aquathlon 2022

The Asturian Paula Herrero, by Saltoki Trikideak, and the Castilian and Leonese Kevin Tarek Viñuela, from the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial, were proclaimed champions of Spain in Aquathlon in Almazán this morning.

This has been the first of the three appointments with medals that the town of Soriana hosts this weekend. During the afternoon the Cros Triathlon tests will be held.

In the elite women's race, Paula Herrero set a time of 32:18 to beat her teammate Katherine Anne Mills, and in the Spanish championship Natalia Hidalgo, from Cidade de Lugo Fluvial, silver, and Esther Gómez, from E- Valladolid Triathlon, bronze and fourth overall in the race.

For absolute teams, the podium was made up of Saltoki Trikideak, Real Club Mediterráneo and Montilla Córdoba Triathlon.

The men's event was won by Kevin Tarek Viñuela with a time of 27:30, ahead of Cristian Fernández, from the Inforhouse Santiago Triathlon, and Ander Noaín, from Saltoki Trikideak.

The sub-23 podium went to Ander Noaín, Andrés Hilario, from the Albacete Ingeteam Triathlon, and Denis Incutti, from the Náutico de Narón. For absolute teams, Saltoki Trikideak won the Vedra Olympic and Poio Triathlon. The Olympian from Vedra was also proclaimed champion by teams under-23.

Autonomous aquathlon titles 

After five seasons without holding the Castilla y León Aquathlon Championship, Almazán once again put this regional title on the line with victory for Leonese Kevin Tarek Viñuela (Cidade de Lugo Fluvial) and Esther Gómez (E-Triathlon Valladolid) from Valladolid.
