For the second year in a row, at the Balearic Triathlon end-of-season Gala, the Portocolom International Triathlon has been recognized by the triathletes by popular vote and by the Triathlon Federation of the Balearic Islands, as the best triathlon of the year in the Islands Balearics of 2014

The Balearic Federation of Triathlon has once again recognized, for the second consecutive year, Portocolom International Triathlon As the best triathlon of the year 2014 in the Balearic Islands”After announcing the results of the open vote among the Balearic triathletes. This great popular recognition of the organizational trajectory of this event endorses the result obtained also in 2013 and represents an endorsement of the joint work of Kumulus and the Portocolom Triathlon Club, organizers of this event, with the collaboration of the Felanitx City Council.

The test meets eighteen editions next April 12 and has managed to unite a high quality event and huge international projection, with one of the most privileged enclaves in Europe to practice triathlon in April.

As is already tradition, the Portocolom International Triathlon is in 2015 one of the first continental triathlons maintaining the attractive 55.5 and 111 formats (1 kilometer for swimming, 100 for cycling and 10 for running). Registrations are open on the official website and there will be a limit of 800 places available, 400 for each distance.

"We are very proud of the response of the Balearic triathletes to the effort we make every year in Portocolom to organize this triathlon party. We live for this sport and that they recognize us the good work is a success for us, and it helps us to put even more passion and effort if it is possible to keep Portocolom, Felanitx and Mallorca as references on an international level ", says Jaume Vicens, director of career and one of the pioneers of triathlon in the Balearic Islands.

By eighteenth year Porto Colom will host its international mid-distance triathlon on attractive 55.5 and 111 distances (1 swimming mile, 100 cycling and 10 running), which is season after season one of the first on the calendar in Europe, and will congregate almost a thousand triathletes between the two events, to which children will be added to participate in the TriKids prior to Saturday's 11 in April.

Among the highlights of the International Triathlon of Portocolom 2015 is the economic prize of 4.000 € to be distributed among the top three women's and men's overall rankings, both in the 55.5 format and in the 111 (1 kilometer of swimming, 100 of cycling and 10 of foot race).

In addition to the two events, in which you can also compete for relay teams, there will also be a duathlon for minors (TriKids) on Saturday 12 in April, which in the previous editions has been the test of this modality with greater participation in Mallorca.

The two tests on 111 and 55.5 km will take the triathletes to the same and valued routes than in previous years. Those registered to the 111 will have to give two laps to the cycling circuit while those of the 55.5 will only give one, climbing only once the 494 meters of Sant Salvador. Swimming will once again be in the crystal clear waters of Club Nautic de Portocolom, while the final walking race of 5 or 10 km will have the goal in the heart of this unique Mediterranean town.

In the last edition, the sport level was exceptional with triathletes of the size of Markus Hörmann o Florian Kriegand with a very powerful female team with Eimear Mullan, Eva Wutti, Gajer, Diana Riesler, Susan Blatt... There were also famous faces competing in Portocolom, like the former professional cyclist Marcel Wust and the Formula 1 driver Pedro Martinez de la Rosa, who competed in relays doing the 100 km of cycling with his brothers, or the former pilot Alex Wurz
